What We're About

Edge All-Stars at the Edge Sports & Learning Center has had competition squads since 1999. We brought competitive All-Star Cheerleading to the Ogden area. We started out with 8 girls, developed up to 4 competitive squads at a time and up to 90 students in the technical programs. We have had a 90% success rate for developing girls for try-outs at the local Jr. and High Schools. Our competitive squads train four hours a week and compete regionally in the fall and at a national level in the spring, as well as all local competitions. The Cheer Tech programs train one to 2 hours per week preparing them for our own Edge All-star teams as well as try-outs for the local Jr. and High School teams. Edge All-stars is the only gym in Ogden area dedicated strictly to cheerleading. We offer a variety of classes including: dances, cheers and jumps for those looking to become a cheerleader; tumbling classes because gymnastics more and more is becoming an integral part of cheerleading; and “stunting” classes. We work with school squads or individuals.

Classes offered:

Cheer Tech Programs (non-competitive):

Mini’s: ages 5-6
This class teaches the basic cheer fundamentals, arm angles, jumps, kicks, tumbling fun, team work, fun cheer games, and basic stunting. Our objective is to introduce the sport of cheerleading and how much fun it is to be part of a team.

Jr. Cheer: ages 7-11
This class teaches jumps, kicks, dance, cheers, stunting, and tumbling in preparation for all-star competitive teams or just plain cheer fun. This class introduces the basics and develops to the advance levels. We teach the fundamentals of sportsmanship, team work, hard work, dedication, and commitment of obtaining goals for future opportunities.

Senior Cheer Tech: ages 11 & older
This class teaches basics to advance cheer levels. This class prepares those who want to try-outs for the EDGE All-Stars or local school teams. Our 90% success rate shows we work very hard in this class to achieve the skills required to make the teams they desire.

Cheer Tech Programs (competitive):
We have try-outs in May every year. Based on our try-outs we develop squads ranging from Mini's to Senior Varsity squads. They will learn all levels of cheer, stunting, and tumbling. They will compete locally, regionally, and nationally if at a national competitive level. Participating on a competitive team gives the athlete the “edge” for Jr. High, High School, and University squads.

Cheerleading has changed drastically in the last ten years. It is considered a sport where its’ athletes combine characteristics of several other sports. They need to be able to tumble like gymnasts, dance like basketball players and take a hit like a football player.
