Tumbling Classes
*Tumbling classes are for girls and boys interested in learning basic tumbling skills, back handsprings, and running tumbling combinations. These classes are great for kids who may be interested in cheerleading. All classes promote large and small motor development, build self esteem, promote basic skills to advance skills, how to take direction, and basics of discipline. In each class, we offer beginner, intermediate, and advance instruction based on the athletes progress. These classes start at 1 hour per week and at the parents request students can participate more than 1-day per week.
Edge Adventures
This is our Tumblebugs program. These classes are structured by age:
3 yrs and Potty Trained: Tweedlebugs
A tremendous Parent-Child interactive class! Instructors show parents how to guide their child through various locomotor development activities. Children experiment in obstacle courses, trampoline rebound surfaces, tumbling, swings, ladders, tunnels and other fun-inspiring stations. The goal is to bias the child positively to ALL types of motor movement. The social component of interacting with other children is invaluable. Student:Instructor ratio is about 7:1. Class length is 45 minutes. Cost is $31 a month.
4 yrs: Caterpillars
Children go through a variety of stations, but the focus here is on following directions, staying in line, making friends, developing coordination, agility, muscle strength, flexibility, balance and motor skills! Introduction to basic skills such as forward roll, backward roll, handstand and cartwheels. Parents are welcome to watch from the lobby, but are not usually needed on the floor. Student:Instructor ratio is about 6:1. Class length is 1 hour. Cost is $40 a month.
5 yrs: Centipedes
In this group we continue to focus on following directions, staying in line, developing coordination, agility, muscle strength, flexibility, balance and motor skills! Working on mastering the basic skills such as forward roll, backward roll, handstand and cartwheels. Possible introduction of new skills such as the roundoff. Student:Instructor ratio is about 6:1. Class length is 1 hour. Cost is $40 a month.
6 to 7 yrs: Grasshoppers
In this group we are mastering the basics increasing our flexability with splits and moving on to more difficult skills. We will be working on the roundoff and introducing the backhandspring. Other skills include handstand forward rolls, limbers and walkovers. Student:Instructor ratio is about 6:1. Class length is 1 hour. Cost is $40 a month.
Flip Factory
- Our Flip Factory program is an extension of the Edge Adventures programs. These classes are for those athletes who are 8 years and older.
Flip Factory 1-2 Beginning
This class is for the beginning 8 year old or older who has never participated in a program before and cannot perform basics; cartwheel, handstand, front roll etc. Student:Instructor ratio is about 8:1. Class length is 1 hour. Cost is $40 a month.
Flip Factory 3-4 Intermediate
This class is for the student that has been in the program before and is perfecting the basics. Has been taught the backhandspring & is working on the roundoff backhandspring. Also working front & back flips on trampoline. Student:Instructor ratio is about 8:1. Class length is 1 hour. Cost is $40 a month.
Flip Factory Advance
This class is for the experienced tumblers only. Advance will work series of backhandsprings, saltos, twisting and passes. Student:Instructor ratio is about 8:1. Class length is 1 hour. Cost is $40 a month.
Recreational Elite
This class is by the coaches discretion for the tumbler that almost has their backhandspring and wants to be competitive.
Competitive Team
Edge Advance Level 5-7
Tumblers must compete, join USA-Gymnastics $46.00, and train a minimum of 2 days per week 1.5 hours each.
Edge Advance Level 8-Elite
Competitive Tumblers only. Tumblers must register with USA-Gymnastics $46.00 and must train a minimum of 2 days for 2 hours each.
